Testing Standards and Acceptance Requirements for Scaffold Couplers
Mar 18,2026
Quality control of scaffold couplers must follow requirements of GB 15831-2016 and related standards . New couplers should have production permits, test reports from statutory testing institutions, and product quality certificates . Appearance inspection requires no obvious cracks on coupler surfaces, with defects such as blowholes and pores within specified limits, and rust area not exceeding 5% of surface area . Regarding dimensional deviations, opening allowance for right-angle and swivel couplers is ±0.3mm, with axial gap for sleeve couplers not exceeding 2mm .
Mechanical performance tests should include anti-slip performance tests, anti-destructive performance tests, torsional stiffness tests, and tensile performance tests . Tests should use steel tubes with nominal outer diameter of 48.3mm, with bolt tightening torque applied according to standard requirements . For anti-rust treatment, coupler surfaces should undergo anti-rust treatment, with average hot-dip galvanized layer thickness not less than 85μm . Used couplers should undergo quality inspection before use; those with cracks or deformation are prohibited from use, and bolts with thread stripping must be replaced .
